Workshop Description
Accessibility is the key to creating inclusive learning spaces for students with disabilities. This four-week, fully online, asynchronous workshop provides hands-on experience in creating accessible course content in Canvas. Participants will create an accessible Canvas page, Word document or PowerPoint presentation, and video with captions. You will also explore the Ally tool in Canvas to identify and fix inaccessible course content. A $500 stipend is available for eligible participants.
Assignments and Due Dates
This workshop is fully online with weekly assignments due on Sundays, and some discussions due on Wednesdays. The culminating activity is due one week after the workshop ends, and will take about 2 hours to complete.
Time Commitment and Stipend Information
This workshop is designed for faculty who currently teach at Cal Poly. Time commitment is 6-8 hours per week for a total of 24-32 hours, depending on prior knowledge, skill level, and experience. A $500 stipend is available for those who complete all readings, quizzes, and assignments with an 80% minimum grade on each.
