Best Practices for Accessibility: Linking to Library-Licensed Materials in Canvas
Workshop Description
Are you concerned that the materials you’ve posted on Canvas are not meeting accessibility standards?
This hands-on workshop will equip you with the skills needed to leverage accessible, library-licensed materials in your courses, while avoiding common issues with posting PDFs (inaccessible materials and copyright violations). Participants are encouraged to bring lists of articles they might want help finding in library databases.
The Linking to Library-Licensed Materials in Canvas workshop will walk you through:
- Fair use and copyright considerations
- Avoiding pdf traps (accessibility AND copyright)
- Identifying stable links to Library-licensed articles for staging in Canvas
- How to accessibly stage stable links in Canvas
- How to list Library-licensed eBooks and streaming media on the Library’s e-Course Reserves module
