Creating Accessible Documents - Fall 2023
Workshop Description
Accessibility is the key to creating inclusive learning spaces for students with disabilities. This one-week fully online workshop provides faculty with hands-on experience creating accessible Word documents, in alignment with the requirements and standards set by the CSU Accessible Technology Initiative: (CSU ATI), Federal Law (Section 508), and Web Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0).
Workshop learning outcomes
By the end of this workshop you will be able to:
- Explain why course materials need to be accessible for students with disabilities.
- Identify Federal, State, and Cal Poly accessibility requirements.
- Create an accessible Word document and convert to PDF.
Workshop dates for Fall 2023
This one-week workshop is offered during the following weeks:
- October 2 - 8
- October 30 - November 5
- November 27 – December 3
Time commitment: 6-8 hours.
Stipend: $100 for eligible participants.
