Creating Accessible Documents - Winter 2024

Accessibility is the key to creating inclusive learning spaces for students with disabilities. This one-week fully online workshop provides faculty with hands-on experience creating accessible Word documents, in alignment with the requirements and standards set by the CSU Accessible Technology Initiative, Federal Law, and Web Accessibility Guidelines.

Workshop learning outcomes

By the end of this workshop you will be able to:

  1. Explain why course materials need to be accessible for students with disabilities.
  2. Identify Federal, State, and Cal Poly accessibility requirements.
  3. Create an accessible Word document and convert it to PDF.

Workshop dates for Winter 2023

This one-week workshop is offered during the following weeks:

  • January 16-21
  • February 5-11
  • March 18-24

Time commitment: 6-8 hours.
Stipend: $100 for eligible participants.
