Catherine Hillman

Catherine has over 25 years of experience in K-12 and Higher Education in both faculty and staff roles, and she has been teaching online in Higher Education since 2001.

For nearly a decade, Catherine was a facilitator for the California Community College Online Teaching Certification program, as the lead in the Introduction to Online Teaching and Learning (IOTL) flagship course. In this role, she trained over 3,000 faculty to teach online courses throughout the Community College system.

Her background includes textbook reviews for Prentice Hall, and consulting with Cengage in their Nursing and Allied Health Online Content.

A Cal Poly alumnae herself, Catherine’s primary goal is to support faculty in creating flexible and effective learning spaces that encourage student success and enhance a Learn By Doing pedagogy. Catherine also currently teaches in the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly.
