Stacey Aragon, BS Business Admin.

Administrative support coordinator II

Stacey Aragon is our newest team member and returning alum. She is CTLT’s Administrative Support Coordinator II. Her experience and expertise in business is leveraged to maximize efficiency on the administrative front of the CTLT office.  

Stacey graduated from OCOB in 2016 as Orfalea's Great Grad, completing her Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Entrepreneurship. She quickly plugged into the Women’s Business Center (WBC). 

Stacey has worked with the WBC for 6 years in various capacities including as a Program Coordinator, WBC Small Business Consultant, Engagement Specialist and more. She is looking forward to utilizing these skills to enhance the overall impact of CTLT on Cal Poly campus.

Pam Dougherty

Pam Dougherty, M.S.Ed

Instructional Designer & Accessibility specialist

Pam is an Instructional Designer and Accessibility Specialist who assists faculty in all aspects of course design and facilitation. She also assists faculty in creating accessible course materials, and applying the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to minimize barriers and maximize access for all students. Pam received her B.A. in Education from Cal Poly Humboldt in 2005, and her M.S. in Education from CSU East Bay in 2014. Pam received certification from California State University as a quality assurance course reviewer for online and hybrid courses, via the CSU Quality Learning and Teaching (QLT) program. Pam supports faculty in the exploration of innovative technologies and pedagogies for teaching and learning.

Catherine Hillman

Catherine Hillman, M.S.Ed

Instructional designer & Online Instruction specialist

Catherine Hillman is an Instructional Designer at the CTLT and guides faculty in applying transformational pedagogies to their courses, with particular focus on Hybrid and Online instruction methods. She consults in person and online using collaborative applications, and is the campus coordinator for the QA (Quality Assurance) initiative through the CSU.

Sarah Macdonald, Ph.D.

Assistant Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Teaching

Sarah is CTLT's Assistant Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Teaching. Sarah's work is directed at promoting instructional improvements to achieve campus diversity and inclusion goals. She provides expertise and scholarship-informed guidance to individual faculty, departments, and colleges. Her work promotes inclusive and equitable teaching practices and supports faculty in incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into the curriculum.

Dianna is CTLT Assistant Director and Writing Instruction Specialist. She promotes and develops Writing Across the Curriculum and Writing in the Disciplines teaching approaches. She provides expertise and scholarship-informed guidance to individual faculty, departments, and colleges on developing teaching and curriculum that foster writing-rich learning environments and equitable, authentic assessments.

Anurag

Anurag Pande, PhD

Faculty Liaison for Service Learning

Anurag Pande is a professor of civil (transportation) engineering and faculty liaison for Cal Poly’s Service-Learning program. His research interests include transportation safety, travel demand and VMT (vehicle-miles traveled) estimation, traffic simulation and analysis, and emergency evacuation and network resilience modeling.

As the faculty liaison for Service-Learning, Pande has worked with Cal Poly faculty and regional agencies to support projects of mutual benefit. He has managed about $2.5 million in research funding since joining Cal Poly in 2008.

Pande earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, Mumbai; and a master’s degree and doctorate in civil engineering (transportation) from the University of Central Florida.

Vidya Schalk, PhD

Sustainability Faculty Fellow

Dr. Vidya Schalk serves as a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Cal Poly. She came to Cal Poly from Singapore where she engaged in research and educational efforts, particularly in the integration of sustainable practices, materials and biophilic design integration within award-winning healthcare facilities. 

Dr. Schalk has taught a variety of courses, with topics ranging from sustainable energy and climate resilience to the exploration of new materials for a more sustainable future. 

Dr. Schalk is passionately dedicated to her role at Cal Poly's first Sustainability Faculty Fellow, actively engaging with the campus community and partners. Her commitment extends to the practice of teaching, research collaboration, and fostering community connections, all aimed at enhancing the multidimensional approach to sustainability in higher education.
