But that upbeat image does not reflect the reality for many young adults in higher education. Stress, anxiety, exhaustion, depression, and loneliness are all at record levels and continuing to rise each year. For university educators to remain effective, we must recognize the challenges that are affecting their academic performance. The purpose of this set of resources is to deepen educators' knowledge, strengthen their motivations and enrich their skills to support learners' wellbeing and benefit their personal and academic success.

Wellbeing Resources For Educators

This collection of resources is selected to enhance educators' capabilities for supporting their learners' wellbeing. Each is selected for its scholarly rigor, applicability to university teaching, relevance to the challenges that today's college students face, and appropriateness for educators in all disciplines. Thirty-five original essays present both theoretical underpinnings and practical expressions of these connections of well-being to the work and to the identity of what it means to be a college campus. Essays range from examining what well-being means, both in the hedonic and eudaimonic traditions, to how well-being is linked to the core purposes of an institution of higher education, to how campuses can facilitate and manifest this connection in realized ways—for the better of the students and the better of the world into which we expect them to thrive and shape.
